Leather and Brass Bowl- Black
At the Museum of Natural History, a Native American basket caught my eye. Used for collecting maple syrup, it was constructed from a single piece of birch bark folded up at the sides and secured with rawhide. I appreciated the simplicity of it, played with the idea that evening in my studio, and this is the result.
- Heavy 7/8 ounce natural vegetable tanned leather- hand dyed black
- Handmade sheet brass handles riveted to sides
- Leather and brass will darken and develop patina thorough time and use
